The Fallas are coming!
🎆 News from Valencia: The Fallas are coming! (March 2026)
March in Valencia means only one thing: Fallas! 🎉
For five days, the entire city is turned upside down with gigantic works of art, dazzling fireworks, parades, flowers, music and… a whole lot of fun.
If you're in Valencia (or nearby) around that time, you definitely don't want to miss this!
🔥 What are the Fallas anyway?
Enormous sculptures are being built throughout the city—sometimes funny, sometimes critical, sometimes simply bizarrely beautiful. These works of art are called fallas .
After days of partying, music, and competitions between neighborhoods… they're all set on fire on the final night. 🔥😮
Sounds crazy? It is. And that's precisely why it's so special.
⭐ The highlights you really have to experience
💥 Daily Mascletà (March 1st to 19th – 2:00 PM)
Every day at exactly 2pm there is a huge fireworks display on the Plaza del Ayuntamiento .
No "beautiful" fireworks, but hard thuds that you feel all the way to your chest. Earplugs are not an unnecessary luxury 😉
👉 Tip: come around 1:00 PM to still have a little bit of a view.
🏗️ La Plantà – everything is being set up (March 14 & 15)
During these days all the fallas in the city are built.
Cranes everywhere, construction teams, and half the streets covered in sculptures. It's fantastic to see how it all comes together.
📸 Perfect moment for photos, because everything still looks "as good as new".
🌸 Flower Procession – Ofrenda de Flores (March 17 & 18)
Perhaps the most beautiful part of the Fallas.
Thousands of people in traditional dress march in a procession to the Plaza de la Virgen to bring flowers to the patron saint of Valencia.
All those flowers together form a gigantic cloak around the statue. Truly beautiful and also quite emotional to see 💐
🕒 Starts around 3:30pm and continues until late in the evening.
🎆 Nit del Foc – the big fireworks (March 18 at 11:59 PM)
Literally: the Night of Fire .
This is the biggest fireworks display of the entire week and takes place at theTuria Gardens / Alameda .
Expect: loads of people, loads of bangs and a show that just keeps going ✨
👉 Arrive early, as it's packed here.
🔥 La Cremà – Everything Goes Up in Flames (March 19)
The grand finale!
In the evening, the children's fallas are burned first, and later in the evening the large works of art are burned.
Throughout the city you see fire, fire trucks, music and parties.
It feels a bit like the whole city is saying goodbye to a week of chaos at once… only to start all over again next year 😉
🚶 Practical tips
- ✅ Walk or use public transport as much as possible – many streets are closed.
- 🔊 Bring earplugs – especially for mascletàs and fireworks.
- 📱 Agree on fixed meeting places – reception can sometimes be poor due to crowds.
- 😴 Be aware of noise until late – sleeping with the window open is not always convenient.
🎉 In short…
The Fallas are loud, busy, chaotic, warm, cheerful and completely over the top — and that's precisely why they are so typically Valencian and so much fun to experience.
Whether you take one mascletà or spend several days exploring the city, you're guaranteed to go home with a big smile (and a slightly ringing ear) 😄

Christmas 2025
Casa Sibarita 2026
Dear readers and dear guests,
Wow — the last quarter of 2025 has flown by! We truly enjoyed welcoming so many of you to Rafelguaraf. People passing through, guests relaxing by the pool, enthusiastic cyclists, and hikers exploring our beautiful surroundings… you all brought joy, great conversations, and a lovely mix of nationalities to our home.
Our casa already feels like a real home. Even Shaggy, our old cat, has fully settled in. He's taking his Spanish retirement very seriously — dozing by the pool with his paws in the air.
As November comes to an end, the festive atmosphere is starting to arrive. Our shared living room has a huge Christmas tree, and on cooler evenings the fireplace makes everything wonderfully cosy.
In 2026 we'll keep improving the casa and making it even more beautiful. And we have some exciting news: our kitchen will be more active than ever! On Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays, guests can join us for dinner. We've tested it these past months and everyone loved it. You can sit at the long table or choose a romantic spot — whatever suits you best. Just let us know in the morning if you'd like to join.
Our 2026 calendar is now open, so you can already book your stay.
We wish you wonderful holidays and a healthy, happy 2026!
Warm greetings,
Monique & Willem
